Bringing Norwegian Innovation to Houston

Commentary by Daniel Austin, Global Business Development Manager and Ane Cecilie Ekern, Product Marketing Director at Earth Science Analytics

8 Norwegian startups traded the autumnal skies of Stavanger, Oslo, and Bergen for the heat of Houston to promote our breakthrough technologies as a part of Innovation Norway's Global Growth Energy Tech program.

Houston is best known as the world's energy capital and is home to over 5,000 energy companies. What makes Houston particularly interesting for the Norwegian energy industry is that through decades of transatlantic cooperation, Norway has proven to be a reliable supplier of specialised and advanced technology. Thanks to the excellent network built by Innovation Norway, we pitched our software to a wide range of businesses, investors, and influencers -  all of whom are driving Houston's energy revolution. For team ESA, this was a dream opportunity.

Much like Norway, Houston has a bright future as the energy transition capital, and there is a fundamental understanding of the critical roles of accessible machine learning and artificial intelligence as enabling technologies. We demonstrated how the three key pillars of data management, accessible data analysis, and data transition come together in our EarthNET environment to support decisions and create lasting value for our customers.

One of our favourite parts was the conversations around our case studies, which demonstrate that we are a trusted solution for digitalisation across the globe. Our partnerships in government, with operators, and our expansions into new energy horizons have created results that transform industrial data into real-life business value.

We would like to once again thank Innovation Norway and our host companies for an incredible week. We already have a return trip planned for November and cannot wait to get back!
